IRONMAN material?

Thanks to the generosity of Got Chocolate Milk, my wife Rachel and I will be participating in our first IRONMAN competition this year.  As members of their Team Refuel, we were granted entries into IRONMAN Wisconsin, at our request.  That was the easy part.  Now, we are embarking upon what will likely be our greatest physical challenge.  That is saying something, for we have both lived very active lives.  I played rugby in college and have since embraced a number of individual sports, including running, cycling, skiing and mountaineering.  I've run almost 10 marathons, ridden several cycling century rides with 10,000+ feet of climbing, was recently selected as a candidate for the Loveland Volunteer Ski Patrol and have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and over forty 14,000 foot peaks.  Rachel swam competitively in high school, played rugby in college and has also complete almost 10 cycling century rides in the mountains of Colorado.  However, neither of us has ever swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles and then ran a marathon all in one day.  This is the challenge that awaits us in September of this year.  The training begins now.
